Description
Battle of the Beach Umbrellas by Michele Volpe original Gouache painting on 9 X 12 acid free watercolor paper. There’s just something that’s happy about a beach umbrella. It’s the colors and the reason for its use – shade at the beach! And that means summertime. Every time I drive down Beach road just the tops of beach umbrellas are visible from the road. The beach roses and dune grasses provide the perfect foreground to frame them. They act like beacons of summer beach fun to come. My inspiration comes from many happy summers spent on Martha’s Vineyard. The invention of the “sand screw” has been a lifesaver for many a beach umbrella. Without them, using your beach umbrella was at your own peril. You spent your time at the beach on even a slightly windy day chasing your beach umbrella instead of enjoying it. This painting is perfect for beach decor, a second home at the beach/shore, for those who enjoy the beach, and colorful decors. I hope your enjoy my painting!
