Cape Cod National Seashore by Michele Volpe original acrylic painting on 18 X 24 stretched canvas. Cape Cod National Seashore is a national treasure that we can thank President Kennedy for. It stretches for miles along the Atlantic coast of Cape Cod and will enjoy the same protections of our National Parks. The sparkling ocean washing up on the beautiful clean sand just begs to be walked on. There’s nothing like feeling the cool sand on the bottoms of your feet and between your toes when you walk on sand that’s had a wave just wash over it. The sand is firmer to walk on than the dry sand and it’s fun to play “tag” with the waves. This day was a picture-perfect beach day with lovely puffy clouds in the sky and gentle surf perfect for wading out into if you don’t mind the cold Atlantic ocean. The light is just different at the beach and I tried to capture that in my painting. It would look fabulous hanging in a beach home or in the home of someone who is a fan of Cape Cod. Or the beach for that matter! I hope you enjoy my painting.
