Description
Catboat Regatta on Martha’s Vineyard original Mixed Media Acrylic Painting on a 16X20 Stretched Canvas. Every year in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard there is Catboat week. There are special ice creams made by Mad Martha’s and of course the obligatory Catboat parade and regatta. It’s one of my favorite times to be on the Vineyard. There’s a special Catboat painting exhibition at the Old Sculpin gallery that features Island artists. Catboats are one of my favorite sail boats and this week is the best time to see and admire them. This painting is a mixed media painting using newspaper cutouts from the Martha’s Vineyard Gazette, my own mark making and lots and lots of layers of acrylic paint and tissue paper overlays. It would look great hanging in a home of those who love sailing, Martha’s Vineyard and are fans of mixed media art. It took many hours to create this painting and I’m hoping it will find its way to a home who will love it.
