Description
Fall and Fawn by Michele Volpe a pastel on 16.5 X 11.7 inch pastel paper. The Aspen tree leaves in the fall turn such a lovely shade of yellow and gold that I just had to paint them. I added the Fawn peeking through the foliage to add some scale to the scene. I liked the contrast of the red leaves against the yellow/gold of the Aspen leaves and that completed my composition. I think you can just hear the crackle of the dried leaves as you hike through the stand of Aspens. I used to use the whitebark that had peeled off to write secret messages on to my brother. Sadly, he never wrote any back to me. He was too busy exploring trying to find wild things like chipmunks. Even though the fall represents a time where nature is getting ready to rest until spring, there is still lots of wildlife to observe along with the beauty of the forest. I tried to capture that here. I hope you enjoy my painting! If you have a fall scene that you would like to have me paint, I would be glad to consider it!
