Koi swimming by Michele Volpe 16 X 20 inch stretched canvas. Koi are such happy fish and are so colourful! I love pond lilies and when I combined the two together, I felt I had a winning composition. When I visited Japan, I couldn’t get over how big they grew or how friendly they were. I never knew that fish could have a personality. It was the first time that I had ever seen koi fish. Some of them were bigger then trout I had caught when I went fishing as a girl. You could actually hand feed them. I tried abstract painting for a change and thought they would be a good choice to do it with. I hope you enjoy my painting!
