Description
Two Toned Hydrangea original pastel by Michele Volpe on 9 X 12 Uart 400 Grit sanded pastel paper. While I was on vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, I took a close up of this Hydrangea bloom because it was uniquely bi-colored. It was so stunning that I had to try and capture all the nuances of the colors within this flower. There are many, many Hydrangeas on Martha’s Vineyard but I had never seen one that had this coloration. It took lots and lots of layers of pastel to get the effect that I wanted. I wanted to have an impressionistic quality to the piece. This painting would look great hanging in any room! I hope you enjoy my painting.
