Description
Monet’s Water Lilies Garden original acrylic painting by Michele Volpe on an 18 X 24 stretched canvas. I painted this piece from a photograph of Monet’s water lily garden. I used an impressionist style of painting to create the overall look and feel of a Monet painting but kept my own style too. Water lilies have held a strong fascination for me since my grandmother used to take me to Rockport, MA. There was a pond of abundant pink water lilies that I always kept an eye out for. The varying shades of pink went from pink to very pink. Someday I’ll paint that pond. When I saw this photograph, I just had to paint it. I am a big fan of Monet and hope to visit his gardens someday. In the meantime, I’ll have to enjoy looking at photographs of them and interpreting them for my paintings. This painting would look great hanging in any home that has an appreciation of the impressionist artists, Monet, or water lilies. I hope you enjoy my work!
